The new partnership sees Simplot Australia providing 200 young Australian chefs, apprentices or culinary students under 25 years old with 12 months’ membership of the Australian Culinary Federation and ACF Young Chefs. Simplot Australia will also be working closely with the ACF to help raise the profile of young chefs in Australia and promote the advantages of belonging to an industry-based association – helping our chefs of tomorrow grow, develop and stay engaged and passionate about their career choice over the longer term.

To lead our young chefs we have a great team with chairpersons in all region, led by Worldchefs Ambassador Billy Fox and National Chair Jarrod Everett:

This is a fantastic opportunity for young chefs which can lead to worldwide networking opportunities, competitions, mentoring, educational and social events while also helping to ensure the future of our industry.

Hospitality is an exciting yet demanding industry where external pressures can have a significant financial and emotional impact. This has become more acute due to disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Talking things through can help, so the ACF has put together a variety of supports and services that can be found on our Wellbeing Page.

The ACF is currently navigating through the current difficulties, including postponing and reprogramming events and have flipped most of our networking events to an online forum, such as a live chat on 30 August with Sam Burke, Corporate Chef and Foodservice Business Manager of Meat and Livestock Australia who will be “Talking all things Red Meat”.

Live competitions such as the National Secondary School Final, Tabasco Apprentice of the Year and the ACF culinary and restaurant challenges have been rescheduled in line with Fine Foods Australia and Foodservice Australia. It’s important to us that we continue to support all our valued partners.

Our new website is launching at the start of September with many new exciting initiatives and benefits for our members. We are excited to welcome our two new educational members TAFENSW and SERO, with others to come.

We all look forward to seeing and networking with you all at live events as soon as we can– until then I’ll see you in virtual space.

Please take care and stay safe.
