New dates to be set for FSAA Conference and Awards Night

The Foodservice Suppliers Association Australia is known for its activity in the areas of networking, education, training, professional development, industry insights and strategic alliances.

Our two premier events, the Foodservice Today & Tomorrow conference and National Awards of Excellence are held in conjunction with Fine Food Australia. Unfortunately, this has been postponed until March 8-11 2022 so we have also had to move these two events.

We wish to stress that they are not cancelled but rather postponed, aligning with Fine Food in March. The conference theme is “Changing Times in Foodservice” and our industry has certainly experienced a great deal of upheaval over the last fifteen months!

We have engaged speakers to cover industry-relevant topics such as:

  • Doing digital business in foodservice

  • Plant based proteins

  • Dark kitchens

  • The state of the healthcare sector

  • Changes in the pub market

A further initiative is being introduced this year called Emerging Leaders Think Tank. This involves three up and coming leaders who have been working on a project focused on gaining and retaining talent in foodservice supply.

Earlier this year we canvassed a number of members and sought their feedback as to the types of subjects they would like to see covered at the conference and the above reflects that feedback. This will be our twelfth conference and it grows stronger each time – we strongly recommend you book into it as it also provides a great networking opportunity.

The foodservice supply industry’s “night of nights” is celebrated at our National Awards of Excellence which is conducted in the evening of the same day as the conference. It is a gathering of the “who’s who” of the industry where we acknowledge the achievements of the prior year.

The awards cover food and grocery, non-alcoholic beverages, commercial equipment, foodservice distribution, and tableware/packaging. The finalists and winners are voted on by their customers or suppliers. This is another wonderful networking opportunity so we strongly suggest you register to attend.

Our webinars also continue to be very popular with people genuinely interested in the topics covered. Our most recent was on food waste in Australian foodservice. This covered a number of areas including how much waste there actually is and a project to identify root causes and to establish best practice guidelines for the future.

We are happy to hear from you as to the sort of topics you would like to see covered.

On a more sombre note, we extend our best wishes to everyone out there suffering hardship. These are difficult times with businesses doing all they can to survive. We wish you all the best.
