Celebrating talent and building momentum
/The Australian Culinary Federation is seeing strong momentum across the country—with events, competitions and programs rolling out in every region. From celebrating local talent on the global stage to championing sustainability and wellbeing in kitchens, our community continues to take the lead.
In March our Young Chefs and WA Apprentice of the Year winners proudly represented Australia at the Hanoi Salon Culinaire, returning with an impressive haul of two gold, three silver and two bronze medals, two diplomas and a number of category awards. Their performance is a credit to their dedication and to the mentorship provided by Peter Tischhauser and Che Tam Nguyen.
We're also proud to spotlight our Young Chefs beyond the kitchen. In a recent episode of the Worldchefs Podcast (Episode 123: Reflections of a Young Leader), Victorian Young Chefs co-leader Kimberly Tang talks about her journey through some of the world’s top kitchens, her winning dish inspired by her Singaporean heritage and her work as a Worldchefs Without Borders Committee member. It’s a must-listen for emerging chefs and mentors alike.

Looking ahead, Foodservice Australia returns from 18–20 May at MCEC Melbourne, with the Queen Restaurant Challenge back for 2025—now a Worldchefs endorsed national competition.
This year also marks the 60th anniversary of the Nestlé Golden Chefs Hat Competition. Registrations are open now for this iconic program that continues to open doors for young chefs across Australia and New Zealand.
