ACF reports on 2025 Restaurant Challenge, new national scholarships and more

It’s been an exciting few months for the Australian Culinary Federation, with momentum building across the country through competitions, regional events and new initiatives.

At Foodservice Australia we were proud to host the 2025 Restaurant Challenge - sponsored by Queen Professional - as part of Food & Hospitality Week. Eight teams competed live at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, each serving a full three course menu. Congratulations to:

Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort Gold– Overall Winner ($3000)
Coliseum 1921 – Malaysia Gold – Second Place ($2000)
Levy Australia Silver – Third Place ($1000)

With teams joining us from Australia, Uruguay, Fiji and Malaysia, it was a high energy, high standard event - and the first of our live competitions to be officially endorsed by Worldchefs.

The Federation continues to deliver industry events, masterclasses and educational forums that bring chefs, partners and suppliers together

Our regional programs continue to play a key role in strengthening local connections and giving chefs the chance to come together, learn and grow. We’re especially proud of the work happening in our ACF Young Chefs Program supported by Nestlé Professional, which is helping to build confidence, capability and a strong sense of community among the next generation of chefs.

We’re also pleased to introduce three soon to be released national scholarships:

Nestlé Professional Merit Scholarship – $4,000
Nestlé Professional Equity Scholarship – $4,000
Cookers Experienced Chef Scholarship – $5,000

These are designed to support both emerging and experienced chefs, helping them take the next step in their careers - whether it’s advancing their skills, expanding their network or pursuing further training.

The Federation continues to deliver industry events, masterclasses and educational forums that bring chefs, partners and suppliers together. These gatherings are essential to sharing knowledge, showcasing innovation and strengthening industry relationships.

There’s plenty to look forward to in the months ahead, including the National Apprentice Competition, the 60th anniversary of the Golden Chef’s Hat cook-offs and our Secondary Schools program which continues to grow in reach and impact.

And finally, a proud moment for our Federation - seeing the Australia National Team represent the country in Japan. Their professionalism and performance reflects the standards we continue to uphold and promote at every level.

Thank you to all our partners, sponsors and volunteers who continue to support our work.
